Troubleshooting Uploading a List

With your VR account you have the convenience of adding members to your list in four different ways:
  1. Browsing and importing a file from your computer.
  2. Dragging and dropping the file from your computer desktop to the Add Contact page.
  3. Adding an email address by manually typing the information in to the list.
  4. Using a Sign Up form you create on your VerticalResponse account.

If you are using the first two methods, Browsing and Import or Drag and Drop, make sure that your file:

  • Is in an .xls, .xlsx, .csv or .txt format with a maximum file size of 100 MB
  • Only has one tab in the Excel spreadsheet
  • Does not have email addresses formatted as links
  • All email addresses are in one column, one to a cell
  • Corresponding fields should be in their own column
If you're not sure you have your list saved in the correct format open up your file -> got to File, -> Save As and choose the appropriate file type from the File Format drop down and save your file.
When using the Add Manually option and your recipient’s information isn’t saving check the page for error messages (i.e., Oops! Looks like you’ve entered an invalid email. Try double-checking for typos.)
When using a Sign Up form, if the URL you click on to bring up the form doesn’t work please make sure you copied it correctly from your VerticalResponse account.  If you edited the URL on your account you have to use the last URL you created.  All previous URLs will be inactivated.
